We knew that getting married in Baguio meant that many of our guests would have to travel, so we wanted to welcome them to the city in the most fabulous way possible. We couldn’t have chosen a better venue to do that than the Frangeli House.

Frangeli has two enormous gardens and a three-storey house with stylish yet practical interiors. Originally, we had planned to have the ceremony in the front garden and the reception in the back garden. But just minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start, it started pouring rain! We ended up moving the ceremony inside, and while that wasn’t part of the plan, it made the event more intimate – and kept everyone dry and mud-free. And fortunately, we were still able to use the setup in the front garden when the rain stopped for photos with our family and friends.

From the ceremony to the reception (and our engagement too!), Miel’s Flowershoppe and Events Styling brought the venue to life. We told them we wanted a midnight blue motif with accents of gold, silver, and white. They took the idea and ran with it and put together a dramatic backdrop with twinkling lights.

One detail that we absolutely loved was the divider up front. The team put up three light wooden structures and hung lights shaped like birds from the frames. They were also adorned with white flowers and greenery. When we got engaged, EJ noticed a pair of doves among the decorations and told them we had birds at home. They moved the dove decor to a more prominent place, and over a year later, incorporated birds into the styling for our wedding. It was such a thoughtful detail.

More than the lovely, shiny looks, we so appreciated the level of service and warmth that we received from both the Frangeli House staff and Miel’s team. They were organized and quick to respond every step of the way, and everyone we spoke with was friendly and supportive. It was such a blessing to work with people who are equal parts talented and sweet. We were grateful for it, and so were our almost 130 guests!

Baguio events staple Reinforcement handled the lights and sound system, as well as the much-needed awning over the garden where we held the reception. Some of our friends who work in the music industry were all-out gushing about how incredible the sound system was. The Klatsch Brewer band’s live performance, touching speeches by our guests, and cinematic same-day edit video by BackStory Films were all given the platform they deserved thanks to Reinforcement.
Despite some brief afternoon rain, we managed to use every nook and cranny of Frangeli House, both inside and out. Our team of vendors were not just talented; they were resourceful and fast-moving. In the moment, the rain felt like a crisis to me. To them, it was merely a hiccup, and one that they approached with commendable grace and skill. I will always be grateful for how they set the stage on our big day.
