Merienda and Much More at Cassia Restaurant and Bar

Cassia’s latest offering is their merienda buffet. With hordes of customers enjoying their breakfast buffet, it only made sense to give an option to the not-so-early risers. But if you’re as hungry as we are, you could definitely show up for both.

We started off strong with some fried food. Their finger foods include chicken popcorn and chicken shanghai rolls. Both can be enjoyed with sweet and spicy sauce for dipping. These are small, but it’s easy to fill up on them. Make sure you’re leaving a lot of room to taste the rest of the food!

They serve a couple of different noodle dishes. The crowd favorite, however, is their pancit palabok. Check out the generous toppings and sliced boiled egg served on the side.

In true Pinoy merienda fashion, Cassia offers some fried tusok-tusok street food favorites. Combine sauces to your liking for your fish ball, squid ball, and kikiam. You can even assemble them on a skewer for the full experience! This station also has two kinds of steamed siomai.

Another big crowd-pleaser (and one of our favorites!) is the fresh lumpia. This is a great way to get your fill of vegetables — and then smother it in peanut sauce. We liked the surprisingly thick wrapper. If you’re not a fan, you can also put together your own salad at the same table.

Cap your merienda off at the dessert table. There’s a lovely variety of bite-sized fruit tartlets. You might also like their sticky biko. Strawberry tartlets are the classic Baguio choice, but we enjoyed the cherry tartlets the most.

Feeling tempted? These photos don’t even capture every dish at the buffet. Right next to the fresh lumpia, their pares with mami is at the top of our list. It’s tender and flavorful. We get the feeling it tastes even better on a cold, rainy afternoon.

Cassia Restaurant & Bar is located at the Hotel Supreme Mall & Events Center along Magsaysay Avenue. Their merienda buffet runs from 2:00-5:00pm from Tuesday to Sunday. They charge Php219 per person on weekdays and Php285 per person on weekends.

Don’t miss out on their breakfast buffet as well from 7:00-10:00am!
